Balloon Chic Trend Discussions 01: Polka Dots

Balloon Chic Trend Discussions 01: Polka Dots

Ah, the polka dot... It is likely that the term originated from the popularity of the polka dance, as the print appears to have begun being widely used and fashionable along the same time frame; just as many other products and fashions on the era also adopted the "polka" name.

The spotty midi dresses seen across runways this season are a testament to just how popular polka dots are at the moment. This summer, we can expect many more viral spotty dresses to come our way. Designers like Gucci, Richard Quinn and Marc Jacobs played with the classic polka print by moving beyond the usual navy-and-cream color combination and incorporating them with yet another trend: clashing hues.

We decided to go ahead and make this trend our own. In line with the pre-mentioned move away from the classically seen combo of navy-and-cream polka dots, we also used bold fire red in our prints to achieve a trendier, braver look. We synched our dresses at the waist and kept them mini rather than midi, so that they could effortlessly fit into the playful , girly shapes our brand is loved for, and added sparkly details for some shine.

What do you guys think?
