Balloon Chic Jukebox 01: Summer 2020 Road Trip Playlist

We asked the team, we did the research... and we concluded unanimously there's something about summer that demands it be accompanied by good music. You all know what we're talking about; that one song that reminds you of warm breezes and midnight drives in your best friend's convertible, this other tune that you're convinced actually smells like salt water and ripe peaches. Not only do our experiences determine our summer music choices, but vice versa as well. So much so that the two become inextricably bound, and upon listening to the same music any other time of year we are immediately transported back to the summer of two thousand something, when we went road- tripping in the red convertible, and ate peaches, and everything was right in the world. The song now belongs to that experience, and the experience to the song.

The summer of 2020 will definitely be one to remember for us all. Never before has time slowed down for us as much as it did these past few months. Never before had we been forced into lonesome togetherness, into solitary unity. But we made it through, hopefully wiser and stronger for it. Having been given the time to connect with ourselves again, we now feel the need for connection with others more than ever. As summer draws near, we'd like to share with you the team's summer tune picks. Give them a listen, share them with your loved ones, and maybe you will feel a little lighter and daydream about sandy beaches and sweet peaches with us.
