Balloon Chic Trend Discussions 02: Palazzo Pants

These trousers, cut with a loose, extremely wide leg that flares out from the waist, first became a popular trend in the late 1960s and early 1970s. The style was reminiscent of the wide-legged cuffed trousers worn by some women fond of avant-garde fashions in the 1930s and 1940s, particularly actresses such as Katharine Hepburn, Greta Garbo and Marlene Dietrich.

Palazzo pants are supremely comfortable because of their wonderfully loose cut. They allow the legs to swirl around and they give a beautiful sway to the figure when walked in. Plus there's something just so effortlessly chic about them! Naturally, we had to include a pair or two in our SS20 collection; one in pastel pink with pale yellow and sage detailing, because of course we always need to cater to our girly girls out there, and one in gorgeous nautical-themed denim. Pair with white sneakers for a trendy, casual look, or with sandals to dress it up a little. Either way, this is the perfect go-to summer outfit! Just imagine how snazzy and cute your little one will look on an afternoon sea-side stroll...
